The Light FM Expands Its Reach

Blue Ridge Broadcasting (BRB), a listener-supported broadcast radio ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, has entered an agreement with Georgia-Carolina Radiocasting, Inc. and Tugart Properties, LLC to purchase FM translators W267AD, Cherokee, N.C. and W278CG, Clemson, S.C.

Pending the approval of the Federal Communications Commission, the ministry plans to simulcast their Christian radio station WMIT/Ashville (The Light FM) on both signals, reaching more people with the hope of Christ. W267AD broadcasts on 101.3 MHz at 114 watts from an antenna at 5,052 feet above sea level. W278CG is permitted to operate at 103.5 MHz with 250 watts at 1,613 feet above sea level.           

W267AD and WNCC-HD3, Franklin, N.C., have been simulcasting The Light FM since February 2017 through a lease with Tugart and Georgia-Carolina. W278CG is a Construction Permit held by Georgia-Carolina that is scheduled for completion within the month as an AM fill-in translator for the corporation’s WSNW, Seneca, S.C.

 The Light FM transmits from a tower site near the peak of Mt. Mitchell, NC, the station’s main frequency, 106.9, has the nation’s 12th largest FM coverage area, reaching portions of seven states. The Light FM is also simulcast on four additional frequencies in North Carolina and Tennessee.
