Industry News Bits 3-4-19

EMF is getting WEKL Augusta GA (102.3), WSFF Winton/Roanoke (106.1) and simulcaster 101.7 WSNZ Lynchburg VA, and WLRX Ironton OH/Huntington WV (107.1) in a swap deal with iHeartMedia. The stations were part The Aloha Stations Trust created in 2008. In return, iHeart gets a total of six FM translators in the following markets Pittsburgh,  Oklahoma City, and Minneapolis.


Focus on the Family is asking Christian Radio to help present more than 500,000 signatures to the White House and Congress with the “Declaration for Life.” The declaration asks Christ-followers and concerned citizens to speak up on behalf of pre-born human life and end the tragedy of legalized abortion. Focus on the Family is asking stations to:

  1. Talk about it on-air!  Read this recent message from Jim Daly to get your talking points.
  2. Air :15 and :30 radio spots sending people to sign the Declaration for Life.
  3. Direct listeners to visit focusonthefamily.com/pro-life to sign the Declaration for Life and get details on the May 4th live event in Times Square.

WAY FM is looking to place someone at its Louisville operation and manage the facility. Matt Hahn who was based in Louisville recently joined KSBJ/Houston.  Mid-South Regional Manager Tim Dukes would like to fill the position asap. Go here for the listing on the HisAir JOBS page.


John Butler has exited Head of Christian music at Spotify. He was with Spotify for two years. Previously Butler was VP/Promotion at Curb Records.
