KOAY Graduate of the Year

“It started as a fun thing to do to celebrate graduates who have had a hard year and have missed out on their graduations. The first day it turned into something so much more. The tears of gratitude changed everything,” says Brian Yeager, Morning Show Host and General Manager of KOAY/Boise (Project 88.7). After over 150 graduates were nominated to be the Project 88.7 Graduate of the Year, the top 20 have been selected to receive a drive by graduation – complete with a stage, Pomp and Circumstance, a graduation speech, and graduation gifts – all on a stage truck. All on the street in front of graduates house.

Each day of the week people voted for the final Graduate of the Year, who will receive $1000 to the charity of their choice from Icon Credit Union, as well as a MacBook Pro and a lot of other gifts from companies here in the Treasure Valley.

“But the best part is seeing how grateful the gradates and families are. During these crazy times, the Project community unites. Together we don’t just survive, we thrive!” says General Manager Brian Yeager. Connie Miller, CEO of Icon Credit Union believes in the power of young people. “These graduates are the future of our businesses, non-profits, and our community. At Icon we believe in people helping people – which is why we are so excited to be a part of the Project 88.7 Graduate of the Year!” Project 88.7’s Drive by Graduations and Graduate of the Year is also sponsored by Walmart, Idaho Pizza Company, and Lucky Perk.
