KSWP/KAVX/Lufkin hosted its annual luncheon for the Church and Community Emergency Response Team (CCERT) to renew connections and welcome new members ahead of the storm season.

“The primary purpose of this team is to be the hub of reliable communication — to the radio station and to each other so that our community can receive timely important information,” general manager Michelle Ross said. “As a voice to 13 counties across East Texas, it’s our honor to serve together.”

The CCERT Team formed in 2021 with almost 50 church and organizational leaders in Nacogdoches, Cherokee and Angelina counties committed to staying connected in the event the area faced a major weather event or community-wide emergency.

Southern Gospel Justified Quartet welcomes two new members to the group Anthony Patton and Tony Goforth joining founding members, Tim Caldwell and Mark Jacoby.
Anthony Patton’s love of singing Gospel music comes from a legacy of music ministers and preachers in his family while Anthony has sung with his family, local quartets, and most recently with the trio, Three Nails.

Anthony who will sing lead with Justified Quartet says, “I’m excited and looking forward to this journey with Justified Quartet,” states Patton. Anthony and his wife, Melissa, reside in Decatur, TN.

WSIZ/Jacksonville GA  (102.3) & WVXY/Axson (97.1) including translators 98.1 W251AU Ocilla and 99.9 W260BU Douglas is being purchased by Journey Church of Tifton for $175,000. 

KFRS/Soledad CA (89.9) and translators  K213BZ Richvale (90.5) and W207AX Burlington VT (89.3) are being acquired by CSN International from Family Stations for $80,000.

The FCC denied a request by WEKC/Williamsburg, KY (AM 710)  to reinstate its license and resume broadcast operations. The station is currently silent


HisAir NEWS FLASHBACK – July 3, 2023 -KHBW/International Falls, MN (Heartland Christian Broadcasters) PD/morning host  Michele Eastty has been promoted to General Manager. Longtime GM Bruce Christopherson, is retiring after 40 years service.
