WLJW/Traverse City (Fuel FM) and WLJN/Traverse City Operations Mgr. & Morning Host DC Cavender announced his retirement today. DC says Friday 9/29 will be his last day on the air, DC has been with owners Goods News Media over 17 years and his broadcast career has spanned 50 years.

DC says his wife Jane, who has done Mid-days on FUEL FM & Afternoons on WLJN has also retired from her position as well. They both look forward to seeing what God has planned for them in the future.,

Recently Northern Christian Radio has filled an application with the FCC to acquire all Good News Media stations pending FCC approval; Northern Christian Radio operates 4 stations and 2 translators including WPHN/Gaylord (Promise FM).

In partnership with Vidare Creative, Family Stations in Franklin, TN reached a new Fall Support Drive record and is praising the Lord.

Family Radio President Tom Evan commented, “The LORD blessed Family Radio this week, and we all can be grateful to Him! Salem Radio VP News & Talk Programming Tom Tradup has joined All Israel News as Contributing Editor. Tom will continue his full-time work for Salem.

NRB 2024 will be held February 20-23, 2024, and will return to the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville a longtime destination of the NRB International Christian Media Convention.

Southern Gospel group Fields of Grace has signed with the Family Music Group label. The have just completed vocals on their brand new album, “Remember,” and the first radio release, “All Because of Mercy” is now out at radio stations across the US.

 FMG Label owner and producer, Les Butler states, “I am excited to add Fields of Grace to the Family Music Group label. The FMG label has long been the home for quality artists who sing all styles which fit under the big umbrella known as Southern Gospel. This album is filled with great traditional Southern Gospel sounds, today’s Southern Gospel sounds and even a hint of Bluegrass Gospel. The FMG label historically has been diverse with artists like the Crabb Family, Bowlings, Hoskins Family, Crossmen and the Williamsons.  Fields of Grace is ready to add their name to this incredible list and join their current label mates Old Time Preachers QT and Barry Rowland and Deliverance!”

Hope Media Group went live with Vida Unida in New York City the morning.

In July HMG purchased WVIP/New Rochelle, NY  (93.5 FM in New York) for its Spanish Christian Vida Unida network. WVIP is a Class A 1750 watts @ 433 ft. WVIP studios are in New Rochelle, with the transmitter located in the Bronx, New York.

Selling price was reportedly $8.15 mil from seller Hudson-Westchester Radio, Inc., (owned by the late Bill O’Shaughnessy, who passed in May 2022).
