Kirk Franklin has achieved a remarkable feat by spending 100 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Songwriters chart (dated March 11), making him the first person to reach this milestone on a songwriters chart. In June 2019, Billboard launched various charts, including Hot 100 Songwriters and Hot 100 Producers, as well as genre-specific rankings for Christian, gospel, country, rock & alternative, R&B/hip-hop, R&B, rap, Latin, and dance/electronic. Alternative and hard rock joined in 2020, and seasonal holiday rankings in 2022.
Franklin expresses his gratitude to Billboard by saying, “As a songwriter, there are few things more rewarding than knowing that your work has touched people’s hearts.
