 #10 April 24, 2023 Doug Hannah has been selected as the new afternoon host for the Family Radio Network of Family Stations, Inc. Doug brings over 40 years of Christian radio talent and experience to the 70+ station Family Radio airwaves.

#9 July 17, 2023 Hope Media Group (HMG) has hired Coppelia Acevedo to the position of Director of Media Fundraising. She will be helping to coordinate and host on-air fundraising for KSBJ/Houston, WayFM, Vida Unida and NGEN.

Currently Coppelia co-hosts afternoons at WPOZ/Orlando (Z88.3) where she has been since March 2019. She also serves as PD for WPOZ’s Spanish “La Z.” Prior to joining WPOZ Coppelia she hosted middays at KXNG/Houston (NGEN Radio) From Aug 2013 to Jan 2016 she was morning co-host with Bill Maier on KSBJ/Houston. She started her career in radio in her home territory of Puerto Rico before moving to California to work for KLOVE and Air 1. Coppelia is also a writer, singer, speaker, and worship leader. #8 March 21, 2023  EMF CEO Bill Reeves will be leaving the organization, it was announced. Todd Woods has been elected as the new CEO by the EMF Board of Directors. Reeves joined EMF in July 2019 replacing Mike Novak who retired. Todd Woods joined EMF in March 2022 as its chief legal officer. Previously Woods served as Nissan North America, Inc.’s vice president, general counsel and secretary and Lowe’s Companies, Inc.’s senior vice president, deputy general counsel and assistant secretary. He has also served on the Board of Directors for over 10 domestic and international organizations. Story HERE

 

#7 Dec 4, 2023 Christian Radio veteran Dave Arthur announced his resignation from KTSY/Boise. Dave who hosts the KTSY morning show did his final day on the a last Friday.  At this time KTSY is planning a final show in early January inviting listeners to stop by to say good-bye and reminisce so many fun memories. Dave first joined KTSY in 2001 when Ty McFarland hired him as a voice tracker. Later in 2012  station manager Brian Yeager hired him as KTSY morning show co-host in 2012 moving Dave back home to Boise.  Story HERE

 

#6 March 21, 2023  After 20 years with the organization WayFM PD/MD Steve Shore exited. His last day was March 29.  Shore served at WayFM in various positions, and was named WayFM Program Director/Music Director in May 2022, previously he was the network’s Assistant Program Director and Music Director. #5 Feb 9 2023  WCRF/Cleveland (Moody Radio) has undergone significant changes to the “Brian and Jannelle” Morning Show. After four years as cohost, Jannelle Nevels has decided to refocus her time and attention on her family and homeschool her teenage kids full-time again. Jannelle’s last day on the air with WCRF was Jan 20, 2023. . After rebranding the morning show to “Mornings with Brian” and conducting an exhaustive nationwide search for her replacement, WCRF has hired Lauren Cuevas as the new Morning Show Coordinating Producer and additional voice for “Mornings with Brian. #4 Nov 7, 2023  HisAir is deeply sorry to report the passing of our longtime friend and Christian Radio veteran Jim Channell has passed away after a long illness.  Jim is best known in Christian Radio as host of “Christian Countdown America” for 10 years where the show saw over 3,000 salvations. He programmed the original WCFL in downtown Chicago – when it was “Christian CFL” – the station had more listeners during music hours than any Christian station in America at that time. #3 Jan 31, 2023 HisAir is deeply saddened to report the passing of longtime Christian Radio host/personality Randy Zachary. Randy served as a popular Christian Radio fundraiser host for sharathons on numerous stations. Most recently Randy was afternoon host on Family Radio. Previously he worked at I58:10 Media and WBGL/Champaign. Story HERE

 

#2 Jan 13, 2023  Christian music worship leader, singer, songwriter and producer Jamie Slocum has died. Slocum, 52, was lying in the road when he was hit by a bus and killed Tuesday night Jan 10th in Scottsdale, AZ. He died at the scene. The bus driver cooperated with the investigation, but it is currently unclear if any charges will be filed. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the crash – Story HERE

 

#1 April 4, 2023  After nearly 19 years hosting mornings on SiriusXM “The Message“ Doug Hannah is stepping away. His last day on the air was Friday, April 21. Story HERE
