WGTS Outdoor Festival with Jamie Grace

5-26-16wgtsA chilly, windy spring day couldn’t stop over 5,000 people from coming out to the Washington Adventist University Family Fun Festival sponsored by WGTS/Wash DC.  The WGTS 91.9 Gateway Praise Band provided the opening act to get people moving.  Then Jamie Grace, and her sister Morgan Harper Nichols, took the stage for the headlining concert.

“We do this event every year, and despite cold weather, this had to be one of the most successful festivals that we’ve had,” said WGTS 91.9 promotions director Jerry Woods.

WGTS 91.9 rolled out a brand-new marketing plan to increase attendance at the festival by combining targeted social media posts, email, direct mail and on-the-ground marketing along with the on-air campaign.

The Family Fun Festival provides free fun to the Washington D.C. community with puppet shows, bounce houses, a petting zoo, acrobatic show and music.  For the past decade, WGTS 91.9 has provided the main stage musical entertainment.

“Jamie Grace really provided the perfect concert for us – a fantastic fit.  I especially enjoyed seeing the hundreds of children with their families enjoying the concert together,” said general manager Kevin Krueger.
