WAWZ Heart for Lebanon
ln response to the recent tragic explosion in Beirut and the on-going refugee crisis in Lebanon, WAWZ/New York (STAR 99.1) listeners have reached over 1,100 families with emergency supplies and the Gospel through the ministry of Heart for Lebanon.
The ministry has mobilized staff and volunteers to help clean up the devastation caused the blast and is in partnership with a local church and the largest Christian college in Beirut to provide temporary housing for displaced families.
The radio partnership coincided with the launch of STAR’s promotional theme of “Love God-Love People”. Director of Programming, Matt Stockman said, “The recent tragedy in Lebanon has just intensified the need of the people there.” He added, “We’ve partnered with Heart for Lebanon for several years and were so glad to be able to give our listeners an immediate and practical way to love people in Lebanon who so desperately need our help.”
Heart for Lebanon conducts dozens of radio partnerships with Christian radio annually. The organization was founded in 2006 and seeks to create faith defining environments to serve under resourced families and children in the country of Lebanon. They currently serve nearly 2500 families displaced by the Syrian war
