Northern Christian Radio Closes on Purchase of Good News Media

The deal for Northern Christian Radio (NCR) to acquire Good News Media has closed. Northern Christian Radio goes from 4 full powered stations, 2 translators and 1 format to 10 full powered stations, 4 translators and 4 formats covering all of Northern Michigan and the entire West Coast from Muskegon North all the way into Sault Saint Marie Ontario, from Traverse City to Alpena and from West Branch all the way to the Upper peninsula.

In September NCR filled an application with the FCC to acquire Good News Media in a $1 transaction.

Northern Christian Radio President/GM Pat Scott says, “Today a new chapter began for Northern Christian Radio as we closed the books on one and started another. With 10 full powered signals, 4 translators and 4 formats we are looking forward with great expectation to see all that God has next! God has clearly shown us in His Word that He is up to something here in Northern Michigan and Ontario!”

In the deal NCR would acquire a total of 8 stations and 2 translators including (95.9/105.5) WLJW/Traverse City, MI (Fuel FM), (1370/1400).WLJW/WLJN/Traverse City, MI (The Source) and WLJN/Traverse City, (89.9) and WLJD/Charlevoix (107.9). Also included is Traverse City translator W281CG at 104.1 FM, and Cadillac, MI translator W264DQ at 100.7 FM.

Northern Christian Radio studios/offices are based in Gaylord, MI and currently operates 4 stations and 2 translators including WPHN/Gaylord (90.5), WOLW/Cadillac 91.1), WTHN/Sault Ste Marie (102.3), WQHN/East Jordan (100.9), and translators in Petoskey & Newberry  (Promise FM)

Northern Christian Radio formed in 1985 and Good News Media in 1982, both have a long history of broadcasting the Gospel on radio.
