Veteran Christian Radio broadcaster Bill Sammons wrapped up his 47 year career today doing his final morning show on WKNZ/Milford (The Bridge). In Sept this year Sammons announced his plans to retire from broadcasting and his full-time role at The Bridge. As Pres/GM Sammons launched The Bridge, then solely on 88.7 FM in Harrington, DE, in 2010 as Delaware’s only full-power Christian-formatted radio station. Today the station has 5 FM signals including full-power stations serving Delaware, Maryland, the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and South Jersey.
Sammons and his morning show co-host, Denise Harper, began working together on the air in 1991 at The Light FM, reunited in 2010 at The Bridge. Chris Scotland joined The Bridge as a co-host of The Morning Show with Bill and Denise and will be serving as full-time co-host with Harper beginning in January. Sammons will remain on the board of directors of The Bridge of Hope, Inc., licensee of The Bridge radio stations, and he plans to continue as a volunteer, a listener, and a donor to the non-profit ministry.
After his last show today Sammons posted, “I appreciate your prayers as I try to sleep in past 3:30 starting tomorrow and I wait to hear what God has for me next. Maybe that little unseen pivotal thing has already happened that opens the next door. I can’t wait to see it! Till then, I’ll be over here dusting off my guitar and seeing if I can remember the chords to “Just a cottage small, where the pines grow tall…”

Prayer request from our friends at TWR – As we all prepare for a peaceful Christmas time, hopefully with our loved ones, let’s not forget those who lack peace amid war. There are quite a few in our Europe and CAMENA regions that are ongoing, such as the Russia-Ukraine war as well as wars is Syria, Yemen and Israel. Please join us in praying for peace to come and suffering to end. We received an urgent prayer request from our team in Ukraine. Please pray. A new wave of mobilization is underway, and more Ukrainians are being called into active military service, posing new dangers to the team. So, as they prepare, pray for protection.
Also, a few days ago, a rocket landed in the garden of one of our team members in Ukraine while they were sleeping in their house. Praise the Lord. No one was injured.
