Moody Radio Launches New Digital Station

Moody Radio has launched a new digital station, SouthernGospelRadio.org, Moody Radio’s newest addition of stations and music programming.

“We are very excited to launch SouthernGospelRadio.org, because it models our desire to meet people right where they are in life through a genre that they genuinely enjoy and are seeking out,” said Doug Hastings, vice president of Moody Radio. “The biblical themes and messages that are rooted in gospel music, align with who we are as a Christian radio network. And, we’re eager to make inroads for new listeners to discover the kind of gospel-centered programming we offer, while also providing our current listeners with the sound and name that they can trust.”

Artists featured on SouthernGospelRadio.org include a mix of yesterday’s favorites and today’s newest groups, such as Brian Free and Assurance, Gaither Vocal Band, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Greater Vision, Karen Peck & New River, Kingdom Heirs, The Perrys and many more.

“Based on our market and industry research, we know that a sizeable number of Moody Radio’s listeners also enjoy country music because of the unique sound and story-driven nature that this music genre provides,” said Dan Craig, manager of programming for Moody Radio. “These channels also allow us to continue to provide our listeners with solid, biblical content through comments by air talent and through features that play throughout the day.”

SouthernGospelRadio.org presents today’s Southern Gospel music, uplifting heartfelt lyrics, a modern country sound, and close harmony singing. Listen online, 24 hours a day.

Every program, stream and channel that Moody Radio produces and airs is carefully selected to align with its two, top priorities: Sharing the truth and hope of the gospel, and helping people take their next step in their relationship with Jesus. This results in digital and terrestrial content that both edifies and uplifts listeners through live/talk and teaching programming, and music.

For decades, Moody Radio has broadcast teaching or live talk programming to help listeners take their next step in their walk with Jesus. To further satisfy their desire for uplifting music, The Praise and Worship Channel, Urban Praise, Radio Moody, and Majesty Radio streams were created, to pair teaching with Christ-centered music. The newest addition to this group of internet stations is SouthernGospelRadio.org.

  • Good decision, Moody! Some think that Southern Gospel is only popular in the South, however you might be surprised to know there’s an audience for Southern and Country Gospel wherever you go. A number of years ago I discovered this when visiting a broadcast group in northern New England and Canada. People there loved it and I was greatly surprised! The Northeast, Upper Midwest and the West Coast would have been the last places in the country where I would have thought the format to be popular. But there’s an audience in some of those markets. Especially if you have an older demographic who appreciate God honoring and downhome music.

If you have a new station coming online soon or an HD sub-channel you might want to test the format.
