McDermott To Exit KSBJ

Longtime KSBJ/Houston GM Tim McDermott announced today he is leaving the station next month. His future plans were not known.

Today Tim told HisAir.Net, “I am grateful for my time at KSBJ. The growth, the ratings, the financial success, the ministry impact. Wow! What a joy it has been. In the last two years alone we have seen 30 year old dreams come true – including the addition of an FM station for the Next Generation NGEN and the upgrade of our KSBJ signal to reach over 1.7 million more people.

“As I was cleaning out my flooded home last year – I really felt like God was telling me that 2018 was a year of New Beginnings. I even wrote an article in the KSBJ newsletter about this.”

“And that’s where I am. I have been here almost 27 years and I sense God is wanting to do something new. A time to re-dream.”

Tim continued, “There are some dreams in my heart that I have wanted to pursue and I believe God is telling me now is the time to pursue them. Some of those dreams include helping other Christian radio stations grow and impact their city. I have also thought about focusing on using my CPA more as well as helping CEO’s be successful with their boards. And if God leads me to another broadcast operation outside Houston, I am open to that, too. I just want to take everything I am and surrender it to God and then let Him direct us. I hope you will be praying for Trudy and me.”

McDermott’s last day at KSBJ will be March 19th.
