Life 96.5 Cards of Compassion

4-4-16lifeKNWC/Sioux Falls (Life 96.5) along with their listening family made a difference by teaming up with Compassionate Care Hospice for a special Heart Month project: crafting unique, handmade greeting cards to be used by families and caregivers for their patients in hospice care.

On February 26th the total number made at the all-day drop-in event at R Scrapbook Store was 1,692 cards!

Throughout the day, 100 people came in from Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota. Students from O’Gorman High and Memorial Middle School were there, as well as from Dell Rapids. Some people even used their work volunteer time off to spend it with us—from Wells Fargo and First National Bank. And others brought their children in to share a little love for someone who could use it. All told, 274 hours were donated on that day.

The cards will serve patients living in the 45 counties across South Dakota and Minnesota that Compassionate Care Hospice serves.

So many donated card making supplies, their time, their talent, and heart as they were the hands and feet of Jesus!
