KSBJ Prayer Bear
A Valentine’s Day visit by Buddy the KSBJ/Houston Prayer Bear delivered high fives and big smiles to young patients at Texas Children’s Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Accompanied by Carlos and Morgan of KSBJ’s The Afternoon Show, Buddy carried “Love that Sticks” sticky notes written by KSBJ listeners filled with messages of love, hope and encouragement.
Buddy, Carlos and Morgan visited 25 children and their families and were greeted with smiles, hugs, and sometimes tears as the families shared their stories. For one particular family, the visit was very emotional. The child’s grandmother had called KSBJ the week before asking for prayer for her grandson, without knowing that Buddy would be visiting Texas Children’s. On Valentine’s Day, Buddy, Carlos and Morgan visited their floor, met the baby’s mother and prayed with her in person.
“Love that Sticks” encourages KSBJ listeners to leave sticky notes with prayers and encouragement to cover Houston in love during February. Those listeners filled out hundreds of sticky notes for the patients at Texas Children’s and their families to lift their spirits.
