In November KNWS/Waterloo (Life101.9) Content Director Bryon Mengle lived in a RV 24 hours a day – first in Cedar Falls and then moving to Cedar Rapids. The goal – to collect as much non-perishable food as possible during the week, which was donated to the NE Iowa Food Bank and HACAP. Bags and bags and bags of food were donated. In total, 2.5 days in Cedar Falls raised 1,700 lbs. of food and $200 in cash donations – an in Cedar Rapids, over 2700+ lbs. of food and over $800 in cash donations. Bryon broadcast the morning show, did check-ins during the day. The event received coverage in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier and on CBS2 News.
