KGBI Hoodies for Hope

KGBI/Omaha (Life 100.7) listeners collected a record-breaking 1,345 hoodies for their 1,007 Hoodies for Hope program to benefit people experiencing homelessness in Omaha. It was Life 100.7’s third year of the Hoodies for Hope program—in partnership with the Salvation Army Omaha’s Winter Night Watch—and this year, they broke and well exceeded their goal of 1,007 hoodies.

“Listeners are making a big difference for men, women and children who will be facing homelessness or near homelessness during the coldest nights of the year in Omaha,” said Life 100.7’s Listener Engagement Director and Afternoon Host, Jill Tracey. “The hoodies also are a connecting point, leading to the opportunity for a nutritious, hot meal and to learn more about other resources that the Salvation Army can offer…. It is a beautiful way for the Life 100.7 community to show the love of Jesus to the Omaha Metro.”

In addition to hoodies, listeners also donated enough hats and gloves to fill two large boxes. This year, listeners collected more than double the hoodies received in the two previous years of the program in 2021 and 2023.

Life 100.7 is a part of the Northwestern Media network of University of Northwestern – St. Paul.
