I decided to do a little experiment for my fellow air personalities. It’s good to stretch each other’s creativity! So I am going to be the guinea pig!
I went through every break from Aug 1 to Sept 1 and wrote many of them down. (The show is about 30% Faith/Spiritual breaks but I excluded those for this exercise)
In no way do I claim to always take the best angles but hey… that’s art! It’s not a science. It’s your gut, your experience, your mood that day, all colliding in front of a microphone!

A news article came out this week about Hydrogen Peroxide being labeled ‘not good for cuts’ as it kills healthy skin cells. We have been using that forever! That dreaded brown bottle! Asked my audience “What were we doing 30 years ago that now looks crazy?” (Calls came in for 2 hours)
A couple options for kids in theaters this weekend. Coyote vs. Acme of course but also a new Tom and Jerry Movie is out and it’s the 20th anniversary of Cars so some theaters will see the original Cars in theaters.
“If your car could talk, what would it complain about?” “What fictional car would you want to drive in real life?”
9/11 is next week… Who was I before that day changed so much about my world? What changed you more 9/11 or Covid?
Lex tried the Chick Fil A Chicken and Waffles Sandwich… Comes with bacon and syrup! She said it was amazing but it was a ton of food and you will need a nap! When was the last time you got super excited about a fast food menu item?
My producer Cotton is bringing her 10 week old to the Gator game this weekend! I told her that he should be fine as they don’t score enough to startle him! (rim shot) How young would you bring a kid to a sporting event?

Cotton left a Voice Memo on the 2 month mark of having her baby and the baby was crying the whole VM. I shocked Lex when I told her that Cotton sent that a week ago and I never opened it. She said “That girl is in the thick of it, you need to Door dash her some ice cream”
Lex saw Spiderman on a date night w/ her husband and when Peter Parker starts getting over stimulated … Lex turned to her husband and said “That’s how i feel every day taking care of 2 toddlers while you are at work. I need an inhibitor like he has”

I run at midnight in my neighborhood. Lex asked if i am nervous running at night. I said “it’s just animals that could do anything and I carry a Swiss army knife”. Joke led to me being able to do lots to a bobcat. I’ve got a bottle opener, nail file, ect.
Renamed Chat GPT “Helen” after my late grandmother. So every time I use something from Chat on the air, I can say I asked Helen (Wisdom of a grandmother)

I mentioned last week that I struggle watching the scene in Gladiator where Caesar says “AM I NOT MERCIFUL?”. So intense! I asked the audience to tell me a movie scene they struggle to watch. (Got 2 hours of listener calls)
Middle Child day. Lex made a case that the first born’s may have it rougher than middle children.
My neighbor found out what I do for a living. While getting the trash I heard “Jayar You have to meet someone!”. She brings over her friend and we take selfies in front of my house I backed out and started driving and didn’t get 2 turns through the neighborhood when a woman in a minivan backed out of her driveway but didn’t start driving, so i passed her as she sat there in the road in front of her house. It looked like she was waving to me to stop. So I backed up thinking “What is it ‘Everyone in the neighborhood knows Jayar lives here day?”. I rolled down my window and said hello and she was holding her garage door clicker trying to shut the garage but my big head was in her way. SMH, She said “I wasn’t saying hi to you, I was trying to shut my garage door” LOL. Wow, I totally thought it was listener number 2 waving me down in the span of 5 min. My gosh I felt like an idiot… ever have a moment like that?
It’s National Dog Day! “What does your dog think you do all day?”
Dogs probably think humans are incredibly strange: We leave the house for hours. Come home excited to see them.
Lex is from a small town in TN with 3 stop lights and 5 Mexican restaurants. She unveils the town gossip. Everyone is not excited about the new mayor but the real talk of the town is whether or not that new building is going to be a Waffle House!
My son was so excited that he got his license the other day and then 48 hours later he broke his clavicle and is in a sling for 2 months SMH. Who got an ill timed injury?
Lex bought a pew off Marketplace. She has to tell her husband (He runs the local hospital) that the moment he gets home, he needs to go pick it up an hour away after a long day of work.
(Back 2 school) Lex reveals that her dream is to be a crossing guard one day. She’s 4’11”. I told her that in an orange vest she’ll look like a little cone out there!
One a week I get a FB add saying that “Lex is inviting you to join her on Threads”! She said “I’ve never once invited you to threads and I haven’t touched my account in a year”
Lex’s 2 toddlers both had a meltdown at the check out at Walmart. One older couple gave her the stink eye and a mom came up behind her and hugged her and said ‘you are doing great mom”
Lex’s father in law was hit by a train 30 years ago. I am always push to try and get him on the show. She claims he won’t do it if he has to spit out his dip
Talked about water parks and how it’s torture for us over weight people. In a local pool you can go under water but at a water park you stand in line for 10 minutes so people can just stare at your fat!
