Congrats to KSBJ as the station sits in the #1 spot in the market for the 2nd month in a row.  In the Nielsen JUNE PPM KSBJ dropped 9.6 to 8.6 (AQH Share Persons 6+ Mon-Sun 6am-mid) but leads the #2 station by nearly 3 points.

Hope Media Group Chief of Programming Scott Herrold told HisAir, ‘This week, KSBJ’s heart and hustle shine bright. Even with most of our crew dealing with power outages at home, they showed up pre-storm, ready to uplift Houston and share their own journeys. When a hurricane causes stress, our team steps up, addressing real listener concerns head-on. We love seeing consistent ratings, but it’s weeks like this that remind us of our true purpose: spreading Jesus’ hope through every storm.”

Many Houston Christian Radio station staff remain without power after Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Texas as a Category 1 hurricane. More than 2.7 million homes and businesses are without power, and a large stretch of the coast is under flood warnings.

Convoy of Hope is responding there and continuing their response on Grenada and St Vincent, where Beryl originally made landfall.

KSBJ/Houston midday personality Denise Pagano told HisAir, “I can tell you that the air staff has been here round the clock since Sunday-some of us even sleeping at the station (Randy, Yoshi, Rachelle and Carder) to make sure if there were any updates we could get on the air quickly. All of the air staff’s homes have no power, I live the farthest and in an area that was hardest hit (south by about 1hr 20 min of the station) and we had damage to our roof & fence. Thank you for praying!!! We are doing our best to give information and encourage our listeners & reminding them that God is in charge of the wind and the rain and loves us so very much!”

KHCB/Houston President Scott Krus reached out to HisAir, “President Emeritus, Bruce Munsterman was in early on Monday to anchor most of the day on KHCB.  Providing listeners with relevant news and weather updates until relieved by Buck Hardy in the afternoon. We have about four signals without power still on Tuesday (including Radio Amistad’s 101.2 FM and AM 1400), but we were never without electricity at our headquarters and have been able to provide continuous streaming audio. “Many in the Greater Houston area are still without power and cleanup efforts are in full force.  Praise the Lord for His protection and for the opportunity to serve listeners during these challenging times!”

MCBI stations KTIG/Pequot Lakes (The Word) & WZFJ/Pequot Lakes, MN (The Pulse) hosted a Listener Appreciation Picnic, celebrating listeners, supporters, and friends of the stations.

MCBI Social Media Director Amanda Ledford says, “The centerpiece of the event was a delicious BBQ spread that brought people together over good food and conversations. Children laughed and played non-stop in the lively bounce house, while others eagerly lined up for creative face painting sessions. Games of cornhole added a competitive edge to the day, while having Christian music playing complementing the relaxed, family-friendly ambiance. The highlight for many was the charming ice cream bike, serving up sweet treats that kept smiles on everyone’s faces throughout the afternoon.”

Tracy Johnson explains, “Everyone knows about AI, and most broadcasters have tried it with varying degrees of success. The biggest problem is that most who get poor results haven’t learned how to write effective prompts. In the last two years working with my partners at Radio Content Pro, I’ve discovered what works and what doesn’t. This webinar will help you maximize this amazing technology.”
