Division II has two new Recorded Song categories –  “Spanish Language Worship” and “Christmas”

Division V has merged with Division IV. All categories previously listed in either of those Divisions are still open for submissions.






As reported on HisAir WFFH/Nashville (94FM The Fish) afternoon host Doug Griffin will do his last show on the air Tuesday April 30th.  Griffin is Nashville’s longest-running Christian radio station personality. Nashville’s Tennessean newspaper published a feature piece on Doug today honoring his 26 years on the air in the market.

Canada Lighthouse VOAR FM is off the air in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area because of a massive fire on Friday. The station repeater site was in one of the buildings that burned.

John Murley, President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Newfoundland and Labrador, says the replacement of the equipment will cost about $35,000, and is counting on donations to cover the costs. .

Lighthouse VOAR is heard across the province on a series of repeaters located in Marystown, Gander, Botwood, Lewisporte, Grand Falls-Windsor, Corner Brook, Deer Lake, Port aux Basques, Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Lab City-Wabush. Broadcast engineer Brian Matthews is still assessing whether anything can be salvaged from the fire, and is working on trying to locate a new antenna ad transmitter for the Upper Lake Melville area.

The CMB Fun Awards will showcase the lighter side of radio, honoring moments like humorous on-air bloopers, interesting viral videos, and wacky listener complaints.  All entries must be submitted by (TOMORROW) Wednesday, April 24. Winners will be presented on Friday, May 31 during the CMB Awards Dinner at Momentum in Orlando.

The National Association of Broadcasters has signed a contract extension with Curtis LeGeyt that will keep him in the President & CEO position through 2029.  LeGeyt has been with NAB for over a decade, rising to his current position in January 2022. 

HisAir NEWS FLASHBACK – April 23 2021 – 35 (NOW 38) years ago today WCVK/Bowling Green, KY (Christian Family Radio first went on the air. Since that April 23, 1986 CFR has has been on a mission to share all the stories of what God is doing in their community and how lives are being changed. CFR Executive Director Bridget Kehrt Groce says that “the mission is to showcase God’s glory through the story. We tell that story continually, keeping it current…it should be vital, vibrant, alive, and well-displayed.”
