KDUV/Visalia (Spirit 88.9) will debut its new morning show this Monday March 13.
It’s the Real Good Morning with Nic and Tara hosted by KDUV GM Nic Ferguson and KDUV Office Manager Tara Hiester. Nic says both have no on air experience, other than pledge drives but hopes the morning show is Real, that it is Good, and that it sets a tone of our Spirit Family having a Real Good Morning.
Nic adds, “We are going to pray daily, have a verse of the week that will be used by all of our hosts, and will be calling listeners to give their life to Christ daily. That sounds way more serious than it will be as we will also have daily segments for kids, taco Tuesday giveaways, and so much more.
Nic and Tara met as co workers at The Well Community Church a mega church in Fresno, Ca. Nic was the director of student ministries and Tara was a part time kids ministry employee. Tara’s first thought was “we can be friends, he seems serious but someone I can make fun of and he can take it”. Nic says he doesn’t remember first meeting Tara as he was too busy getting stuff done.
As HisAir told you yesterday, Centricity artist Lauren Daigle dropped her new song “Thank God I Do” to radio this week. Yesterday stations all across the U.S. played the song for the first time at 7:31am.
Centricity Music VP, Sales & Promotions Andrew Lambeth told HisAir today, “We are enormously grateful for the support and partnership of CCM radio on this release. Lauren is an inspirational artist with an incredible song and there’s never been a launch quite like this. Christian radio truly brought this song to the world, and we are so proud to have been a part of it with these 84 launch partner stations.”
Sound of Life Radio GM Connie VanKleeck checks in with HisAir. Sound Of Life Radio’s PD morning host Joe Hunter celebrates 30 years on staff.
Connie tells HisAir, “Joe is a Greensboro, NC native and is known for his signature warmth, humor and breezy anecdotes that often include memories of growing up in the South.”
The veteran broadcaster’s radio career began with a weekend slot at WMAP/Monroe, NC. From there, he moved to sales and on-air positions at WNOW/Charlotte, and later, WGNA/Albany, NY. The Sound of Life Radio Network includes 12 frequencies in New York State. Joe has served as the morning show host for most of those 30 years and has been Program Director since 2004.
Joe tells HisAir, “Thank you! Went by in a flash.”
