In response to a tumultuous first quarter that has resulted in workforce reductions across various industries, Salem Media Group has implemented a companywide reduction in force that will reduce its workforce by 3%. The layoffs were carried out on Wednesday.

In an email to Salem employees obtained by Inside Radio CEO Dave Santrella said, “We do not take decisions like this lightly. I want you to know that Salem looked for every other opportunity to improve before this decision was made.” “While other broadcasters were cutting staff over the November and December holidays, Salem did not.”

In the memo, Santrella stated that there are no further layoffs planned for the future. “We do not have any plans to implement additional reductions,” he said, indicating that the company does not intend to make any further cuts.

Salem Media Group Director of Satellite Operations Jim Barto informed HisAir he has departed the company, as has WFIL/WNTP/Philadelphia Chief Operator Ted Winkler.
