Christian Media of the Valley has acquired former Hot AC station “Ultra 104.9” KJAV/McAllen, TX. The new Christian AC is now known as “Life Radio.” The station’s new website is HERE. The $1.45 million deal includes a $1.14 million promissory note. 

Christian Ministries of the Valley owns 16 stations in Texas including Spanish Christian KRGE/Weslaco 1290 AM “Radio Vida,” in the Rio Grande Valley.


WBNH/Pekin/Peoria, IL is celebrating 35 years of ministry in 2023. They held a celebration on Friday, October 13, 2023, featuring Laura Story at Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont, IL. The evening started off with a reception for listeners then Laura provided an evening of music as a part of WBNH’s 35th anniversary event. The entire evening was made free for all 450 in attendance thanks to a number of generous sponsors. Founder Mr. Bubie Goodman had the vision for Christian radio in Central IL starting in the late 1970s, which culminated in WBNH starting off from humble beginnings in the basement of First Baptist Church of Pekin. They first signed on at 88.5FM on December 15, 1988, sharing the frequency with another group from 6pm till 8am. After a number of months, the other group folded and on July 1, 1989, WBNH went on the air 24 hours a day airing programming from the Moody Broadcasting Network.

EMF has filed to purchase WIVG/Memphis (96.1) and WJXN/Jackson, MS (100.9) for $575,000 from Flinn Broadcasting. Air1 already airs on both stations.

Gateway Creative Broadcasting is selling its news-talk KNBS/Bowling Green, MO (94.1). 


The CP for KXAO/Joshua Tree, CA (88.7) is being purchased by CSN International for $30,000 from International Scripture Ministries. 


Horizon Christian Fellowship is buying WSJQ/Pascoag RI (Renew FM 91.5). The buyer currently owns WXEV/Providence (91.1). Epic Light Network still owns contemporary Christian “Q-90.1” WYQQ, Charlton, MA.

HisAir Flashback – Nov 2, 2022 – Gospel Traxx” host Walt “Baby” Love has been inducted into The Radio Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place in Chicago with nearly 300 people in attendance. The Radio Hall of Fame welcomed ten new members. In June 1997, Walt (Rev. Walter Shaw) was ordained in the ministry and is currently an associate minister at First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Los Angeles.
