God’s Pit Crew’s Immediate Response Team is hard at work in the hardest-hit areas of Florida, helping survivors of Hurricane Ian.
Dir, Public and Media Relations Suzanne Boase Honeycutt says, “Our team left Danville, Virginia, early Monday morning to travel to Fort Myers and Port Charlotte to help victims of the storm start to rebuild their lives. Our team is using heavy equipment and chainsaws to clear debris from homes and yards and cut and remove trees. We’re also mucking out and drying homes. We’re sending 15 tractor-trailers to Florida carrying emergency supplies, including water, tarps, generators, and our Blessing Buckets, with plans to send more. A Blessing Bucket is a five-gallon bucket filled with emergency supplies including food, first aid, hygiene items, a Bible, and a handwritten, encouraging note.
God’s Pit Crew President Randy Johnson says, “It’s truly hard to comprehend the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian. It’s catastrophic. We are praying for all impacted and are grateful to be able to help them begin the long process of rebuilding their lives. Thank you so much to our wonderful volunteers, donors, and to the community.” God’s Pit Crew continues serving people impacted by storms across the country. We recently sent our Blessing Buckets to help victims of Hurricane Fiona in Puerto Rico. Our Immediate Response Team deployed recently to eastern Kentucky and to southwest Virginia to help victims of the devastating floods there. Our volunteers rebuilt five homes for free this summer for families in Kentucky and Tennessee who survived last December’s deadly tornadoes. We also provided a new mobile home for a family in Pembroke, Georgia following last April’s EF-4 tornado.

Daywind Music Group, home to top Gospel labels Daywind Records and New Day Records and upstart mainstream bluegrass label Billy Blue Records, is relaunching Thoroughbred Records, a bluegrass Gospel label with historic ties to the genre. Thoroughbred’s first signing is Chosen Road which debuts with a brand-new upcoming album titled Appalachian Christmas featuring the veteran group along with several artist friends including Selah, Point of Grace, and more. Thoroughbred Records emerged in 1995 as a premier outlet for bluegrass Gospel music.
A&R and Creative Director of Thoroughbred Records/Billy Blue Records, Jerry Salley, commented, “Christian Hearts with a Musicians’ Mind – that’s what I’m reminded of when I think of The Chosen Road. Over the years of getting to know this band and it’s founder, Jonathan Buckner, I have been impressed not only with their musical ability, but also their hearts for the God they serve and sing about. I am very excited to launch Thoroughbred Records, our new, all-Bluegrass-Gospel label with such a sincere and exciting group”.
