A court hearing is scheduled for May 13 to decide whether KDHX/St. Louis will be sold to outside buyers or if the local community will be given a chance to regain control of the station’s future. A federal bankruptcy judge has delayed the decision on selling KDHX to EMF allowing more time for Gateway Creative Broadcasting and station supporters to develop their proposals.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kathy Surratt-States stated she would not make a ruling that day and voiced concern over the recent unauthorized airing of K-LOVE programming on KDHX, which Double Helix’s attorney acknowledged was a mistake.

Double Helix, owner of KDHX and currently in bankruptcy, has agreed to sell the station to EMF for between $4.35 million and $4.8 million. However, Gateway Creative Broadcasting, offered a $5.5 million bid on April 14.

In light of that counter-offer, Double Helix is now asking the court to open an auction for the signal and its tower, in the hopes of gaining maximum value for its FCC license, per St. Louis Public Radio.

Chris Tomlin’s Good Friday Nashville once again sold out Bridgestone Arena on April 18, tying him with Taylor Swift for second place in most headlining performances at the venue—just behind Tim McGraw. Since its launch in 2017, the annual worship event has become a staple, even continuing virtually during the pandemic.

This year’s show featured surprise performances by country star Luke Bryan, Phil Wickham, Jenn Johnson, Brooke Ligertwood, and author Max Lucado. Known for its memorable guest appearances, past performers have included Lauren Daigle, CeCe Winans, and Rascal Flatts.

“I’m so grateful for what God is doing through Good Friday Nashville. It’s hard to believe next year will be year ten. This has always been about the Church coming together as one — and over the years, it has been incredible to see and experience what has been built together. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for year ten!” Tomlin shares. “To everyone who joined us in the arena, tuned in on K-LOVE, and to the team, the partners, and the surprise guests — thank you. I pray you and your family had a blessed Easter weekend.”
