After nearly 70 years engaged in ministry, Ambassador Advertising Agency announced today it will cease operations later this year.

Ambassador has been involved in the launching of broadcasts from some of the most significant Christian communicators of our era— Joni Eareckson Tada, Chuck Swindoll, Chuck Colson, Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth and many more.  Ambassador also noted the change will not affect the operation of Amb-OS which will continue to serve with delivery of Christian teaching and talk broadcasts. Amb-OS Media is a separate entity and will continue on as normal.

Longtime Brisbane, AUS Christian radio station 96.5 has unveiled its new name and brand identity: Rise 96.5.

Rise 96.5 CEO Phillip Randall said “This is not the launch of a new station, but the next chapter of the one Brisbane already knows and loves. RISE speaks to hope, resilience and faith. It reflects what we see God doing in people’s lives every day, and what we’re called to nurture through media and our relationship with Brisbane.”

Parts of the U.S. federal government shut down again over the weekend after funding lapsed, though reports suggest a resolution could come early this week. In the meantime, the FCC said it will remain open until further notice, with all normal filing deadlines still in effect. The Commission has also released an updated “orderly shutdown” plan as a precaution available HERE

Inside Radio reports Contemporary Christian radio may not top the charts in overall listenership—ranking 10th among persons 6+, 11th among 18-34s, and 13th among 25-54s—but it tells the strongest growth story of any format in Nielsen PPM markets, according to Inside Radio‘s analysis of average quarter-hour (AQH) share data (Monday–Sunday, 6 a.m.–midnight).

With a full year of 2025 Nielsen data now complete, contemporary Christian shares have climbed steadily since 2022: up 34% among persons 6+, 33% among 25-54s, and a remarkable 52% among 18-34s.

The momentum holds even when comparing the just-released Holiday 2025 survey to the prior year’s Holiday book, with significant gains across all three key demographics. Notably, these increases persist even when excluding the temporary lift from stations that flipped to all-Christmas music, underscoring the format’s genuine, sustained appeal.

HisAir Christian Radio & Records Industry News TIMELINE – Feb 2, 2024

In June 2023 Audacy agreed to transfer the KLUV/Dallas IP rights to EMF and re-branded KLUV from K-LUV to “98.7 The Spot.” The KLUV station name pre-dated the national K-LOVE name. EMF had parked the KLUV call letters on a CP for KLHU/Huron SD (89.7). Not long after a bug in the FCC’s filing system allowed for two stations to use the KLUV call letters when North Texas Radio Group applied to change KDNT/Oakwood TX (94.5) to KLUV and was granted permission effective in July 2023.
