River Radio Ministries, parent company of WCVO/Columbus (104.9 the River) has entered into an agreement to purchase 104.5 WQKT-FM/960 WKVX-AM, located in Wooster, OH from WWST Corporation, owned by parent company Dix 1898, Inc.

River Radio Ministries President/CEO Bill Montgomery is hopeful for the future. “We are excited to serve Wooster and the surrounding community the way we have served central Ohio for the last 50 years! We desire to continue building on a community focused foundation that the listeners and advertisers can embrace.”

FCC approval Is likely in the 1st quarter of 2024.

HisAir Flashback – Nov 13, 2020Laura Chase wraps up her 5+ year run at WCVO/Columbus (104.9 The River) with her last airshift today. Laura says, “My last day is today – and because my family has been fighting Covid I have  to do my shift from home.  I’m so disappointed to not be live while saying goodbye…my listeners are truly friends. What a weird world we live in.” Laura is joining Trans World Radio (TWR) as a Stewardship Representative.


Salem Media released its results for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2023. Compared to the three months ended September 30, 2022:

Consolidated

  • Total revenue decreased 5.0% to $63.5 million from $66.9 million;
  • Total operating expenses increased 31.9% to $99.8 million from $75.6 million;
    Net broadcast revenue decreased 4.2% to $49.0 million from $51.1 million;
