KJRN/Keene, TX (88.3 The Journey) GM Michael Agee is exiting the station. Agee will join WGTS/Wash DC in an undisclosed off air position. Agee has been with KJRN since 2010 and previously was GM at KTSY/Boise.
Peter Chagnon tells HisAir he will join WCLQ/Wausau (89Q) as Business development manager and weekend host. He will start his new position in August.
Andrew Southwick has been hired by The Faith Radio Network, Inc. of Tallahassee, Florida as Operations Director/afternoon host.
Former NGEN/Houston PD Chris Chicago has joined WayFM as overnight host. Chris exited NGEN in Jan this year and programmed the station starting in 2015. Previous to NGEN he was with KLYT/Albuquerque, WayFM, and hosted Rapzilla LIVE on Jam The Hype. Chris will be on the air 11pm-4am CT.
For special Independence Day programming “I Still Believe In America” is an hour long radio special celebrating faith and freedom. The special includes the brand new song from The Isaacs, “The American Face.” Also included, patriotic songs from Gordon Mote, Jonathan Wilburn, Brian Free & Assurance, Ernie Haase, Sue Dodge, The Gaither Homecoming Friends, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers, Lee Greenwood and more.

Ric McClary’s last day at Minnesota Christian Broadcasters will be July 2nd. McClary who announced his retirement in Dec 2020 told HisAir, “After much prayer and discussion with my family and my board of directors, I have decided to retire in June of 2021. It’s time to hang up the headphones at least at the radio station. We’ll see what is next in due time. It has been an incredible 40 years of broadcasting.”
McClary started his broadcast career as news director at WCMP/Pine City, MN. He also spent 20 years in General Market radio; one year in TV and 19 years in Christian radio. His long broadcasting career has taken him to stations in Minnesota, Washington, Utah, Ohio, and Vermont.

Minnesota Christian Broadcasters, Inc. (MCBI) announced veteran broadcaster Paulette Kutzler will assume the role of General Manager for its group of stations on July 5. Full story HERE.
WPCS/Pensacola (Rejoice Radio) is celebrating its 60th anniversary on the air. WPCS went on the air at 89.5 FM June 21, 1971. Pensacola Christian Academy began its Christian radio program 50 years ago in corner classroom studios at the school, few people hoped, much less believed, that it would become the flagship station for programming across the country.
Five decades later WPCS, based out of Pensacola Christian College, has expanded and is broadcast as Rejoice Radio to 44 stations throughout the U.S. from Vero Beach to New York.
“I think for many folks, our station is a companion and a constant — a light for their darkness. We share that joy and encourage each other along the way, being in the background of their life every day,” said PCC Executive Vice President Jon Lands. “In these 50 years, we have been here for the people. That is why we are here. Our slogan, ‘Sharing joy for your journey,’ shows that we ride along with them as they go to work in the morning and as they come home. Maybe they’ve had a hard day coming home and there’s something that encourages them.”
The NAB has come out opposing The American Music Fairness Act. Legislation was proposed by a pair of House lawmakers that would require broadcast radio stations to compensate artists for broadcasting their songs.
NAB leader Gordon Smith says, “For decades, broadcast radio has enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with the music industry, launching and sustaining the careers of countless artists, promoting album sales and streams, and helping to foster a robust music-creation environment that is the envy of the world.”
