Family Life/NY/PA podcasts have now exceeded half a million.  Family Life Director of Radio Dave Margalotti reports that the network is averaging about 20,000 downloads per month and that as of the end of January, the total number of downloads had reached 510,000.

The ministry, which produces several original podcasts including If That Makes Sense, The Rise Up podcast, Terese Talk, The Calling, The Parable Podcast, and The Kids Corner Podcast also makes it’s daily long-form news programs The Noon Report and The 5 O’Clock Report and special news features including Inside Out, Hometown Heroes, Real Answers, Faith Under Fire and others available as podcasts too.

Dave said, “We began podcasting 4 and a half years ago to connect with people that we were not reaching with our regular over-the-air format so that we could encourage them in their walk and help them to have a deeper relationship with Jesus.  To see what the Lord has done with this platform in such a short time has been bigger than any of us could have imagined.  He deserves all the credit, all the praise, and all the glory”!

Family Life’s podcasts can be found on Apple podcasts, Spotify, or www.familylife.org/podcasts.

2024 is a year of milestones for radio, TWR International and TWR Africa. World Radio Day marked a century since the medium of radio burst onto the scene, TWR is celebrating both its 70th year since it first took to the airwaves from Morocco and its 50th year since becoming established in Africa.

“Radio is a reliable form of media that touches millions of people and opens the door for ongoing ministry,” TWR President Lauren Libby said.

Since those early faltering steps in Morocco, TWR has grown to have a global reach, broadcasting to every inhabited continent and proclaiming Christ to listeners in more than 200 heart languages. Of course, with the help of missions-minded supporters, the communication pipeline has expanded to include the internet, video and other media, but radio remains a foundational tool in the ministry toolkit.

A UNESCO news release stated that “radio is a low-cost medium specifically suited to reaching remote communities and vulnerable people, offering a platform to intervene in the public debate, irrespective of people’s educational level. It also plays a crucial role in emergency communication and disaster relief.”

The Voice of the Martyrs weekly radio program host Todd Nettleton will be awarded the William Ward Ayer Award at next week’s gathering of the National Religious Broadcasters. This prestigious award, named for NRB’s first president, is presented “to an individual NRB member with excellence and integrity for outstanding and significant contributions to the field of Christian communications.”

“For the past 25 years, I’ve had the holy privilege of meeting heroic Christian believers who have suffered—sometimes incredibly!—because of their faithful witness for Jesus Christ,” said Nettleton, now VOM’s Vice President of Message.

In more than 25 years meeting with and interviewing persecuted Christians, Nettleton has traveled the world and interviewed Christians from more than 40 nations, those serving Christ on the front lines of our faith. Now 450 episodes later, VOM Radio airs on 1,100+ stations around the U.S. every week, broadcasts online as well as on all major podcast platforms.
