Family Radio/Nashville has completed its 2025 On-Air Year End Support Drive with the strongest response to date.
Between 5:00 AM Tuesday and 7:00 PM Thursday, nearly 1,600 listeners contributed a total of $303,000 in support – approximately a 24% increase over the December 2024 drive – making this year’s response the most generous in the ministry’s history!
Family Radio partnered with Bill Scott and Vidare Creative for this year’s support drive.
WNZR/Mt Vernon, OH, a broadcast ministry of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, recently celebrated the station’s 39th Anniversary by hosting an Alumni Reunion. The special event was held as part of MVNU’s Homecoming.
WNZR Station Manager Marcy Rinehart tells HisAir, “The WNZR Staff is also celebrating the total for the 2025 Knox County Food For The Hungry Drive – $358,391.42 and 15 truckloads of food! These donations will support food assistance projects and provide emergency client services through Interchurch Social Services, The Salvation Army and other food assistance organizations of Knox County.”
MVNU and WNZR are legacy partners of Food For The Hungry. Faculty, staff. alumni and students were active participants in the 44th annual campaign, including the drive day broadcast on December 12th. Over 20 members of the Student Media Team volunteered, led by Professors Jayme McMillan and Joe Rinehart, along with Staff Members Eric Brown, Sue MacDonald, and Marcy Rinehart. The WNZR Video Crew produced the live audio/video simulcast at MVNU.tv and shared live updates on WNZR Radio.

More than 1,400 children will experience the hope of Christmas this year, thanks to the over 7,000 gifts donated by generous Family Life Radio (FLR) listeners. FLR’s annual Toy Drive, held coast to coast, supports children and families through partnerships with Youth Haven and several local nonprofit organizations nationwide.
“It’s a blessing each year to watch our listeners rally to support children who may be facing difficult circumstances. Their willingness to show up in meaningful ways helps remind families that hope is still very real this Christmas,” said Evan Carlson, president and CEO of FLR.
Each gift collected was distributed through community partners who work year-round with families in need, ensuring children receive not only toys, but a reminder that they are seen, valued, and loved during the Christmas season.

WAY-FM/Louisville has added Ben Smith as Community Impact Director / Operations Coordinator. Smith was most recently with Thy Word Radio Network in Evansville, IN. He will lead community engagement efforts in the Louisville, KY and Evansville, IN markets.
“I am excited to have Ben in this vital role. He has an amazing heart to serve the community, and is a great addition to the team,” says Louisville Operations Director Michael Russell.

After 36 years operating in a rented facility, The JOY FM/Florida/Georgia/Alabama bought a building that will serve as their central hub for broadcasting and RTN network operations. Centrally located in the Tampa Bay area, the building’s layout and infrastructure met all criteria for adapting the interior to broadcast facilities and RTN network operations. Less than 48 hours after closing on October 31, one longtime supporter pledged one million dollars towards the $3.16 million needed for renovations, provided listeners would match the million.
GM Carmen Brown reflected, “After 15-plus years of waiting and praying, today felt like confirmation that this building is the Lord’s provision. Our hearts echo Hannah’s words when she finally gave birth to Samuel and said, ‘This is the child I prayed for!’ And like Hannah with Samuel, we will dedicate this building to the Lord!”
The facility, located in Riverview, Florida, is 16,400 square feet, with an open-floor plan that will be designed and built-out over the next year. Expected move-in date is early 2024.
