WRBS/Baltimore (95.1 Shine FM) Director of Digital Media Kelly Jarvis announces she is exiting the station to start her own consulting company, Changeup Marketing. Jarvis last day at WRBS will be September 30th.
Wayne Pederson has been named chairman for the second annual International Day for the Unreached (IDU), which is set for Pentecost Sunday, June 4. The alliance is composed of founding members Reach Beyond, Bibles For The World, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Operation Mobilization and Missio Nexus. “For eight years I was blessed to serve in a ministry focused on reaching the unreached,” said Pederson. “Now I get the blessing of extending that focus as the chairman of the 2017 event. As Willi and I enter our ‘fourth quarter’ of ministry, I can’t think of a better way to invest our time than serving ministries we love and raising awareness of the plight of those who have never had a chance to hear the gospel.”
Just last month an AM transmitter that is twice as powerful as its predecessor went on the air from the TWR facility in Swaziland. That’s a small kingdom located in the northeast corner of South Africa and from which gospel programming is reaching northward to listeners across Zimbabwe and the southern tip of Malawi and eastward into Mozambique. To the west and south, listeners in South Africa will be able to receive a clearer AM (medium-wave) signal.
“This place was built on miracles,” said TWR president Lauren Libby, who addressed the audience on hand for the dedication the transmitter hall in Swaziland.
The Gospel Music Association (GMA) announces more performers and presenters for the 47th Annual GMA Dove Awards. Hillsong UNITED, Natalie Grant and Tamela Mann will perform. Donnie McClurkin, KB, Priscilla Shirer and Ryan Stevenson will present.
