Provident Label Group National Promotions Manager Lisa Keil (at left) is headed back to radio. Starting July 1st Lisa will return to KFMK/Austin (Spirit 105.9) as Director of Marketing and Promotions. Lisa spent 5 years at KFMK in the same position before departing for PLG last October 2018. Lisa told HisAir, ““Thankful to have had the opportunity to be apart of such a great radio team at Provident, they are truly incredible at what they do! I am really excited for this new season and to be going back to KFMK as their Marketing & Promotions Director. Believing and trusting that God’s plans are better than my own. I know he has big things planned for Austin and I am excited to be a part of it.”
Christian Radio vet Jake Sommers has joined Dallas stations KKGM, KHVN and KGGR as production director. Sommers has been with KLTY/Dallas, WCIC/Peoria, KTIS/Minneapolis, WCVO/Columbus.
Podcasts now represent almost 10 percent of everything millennials listen to according to a report commissioned by iHeartMedia. Radio remains the most popular method of audio consumption, according to the study. Check out the article HERE.
The top 25 songs played on U.S. Christian radio in the last year were BMI honored during at the 2019 BMI Christian Awards. The songwriters and publishers of the most performed Christian rock, contemporary Christian, inspirational, southern and urban gospel songs are honored at the annual awards.
The Song of the Year title went to “Reckless Love,” written by Ran Jackson and published by Be Essential Songs and Richmond Park Publishing. The song hit number one on Billboard’s U.S. Hot Christian Songs chart and remained there for 18 weeks. The song spent 68 weeks in total on the chart, with 53 weeks in the Top 10, and was ranked as the top Christian Song of 2018 by Billboard.
The Songwriter of the Year award went to Ethan Hulse, who wrote “Old Church Choir,” “When We Pray,” “Whole Heart” and “Word Of Life.”
