Christian Radio stations doing their part to serve listeners during the COVID-19 crisis…..
KVNE/Tyler invited listeners far and wide to participate from their own homes by all collectively singing along and video taping themselves and then submitting their “Raise A Hallelujah” video to the station event titled- Praise Defeats. In under 3 days, KVNE had 1100 people respond and more than 100 videos/pictures submitted. KVNE VP of Marketing Jennifer Bailey told HisAir, ” It was incredibly moving!”
WHIF Palatka FL (91.3 Hope FM) listeners gathered for prayer in the parking lot of the community hospital. Participants stayed in their cars with windows down and flashers on, listening to Hope FM. The DJ led them in prayer and played worship songs. The CEO of the hospital was on the roof watching and taking pictures! He expressed his gratitude to the station and community for the show of support and encouraged them to continue in prayer for the front line workers.
WRVL/Lynchburg (The Journey) delivered bags of hand sanitizer and pens to several local businesses. Anna from Mills Heating and Air Conditioning said “we received our box of hand sanitizer this morning. I cannot tell you what it means to our staff. We really love our friends at The Journey and will be keeping you guys in our prayers”.
Blue Ridge Broadcasting WMIT/Black Mountain (The Light FM) GM John Owens shared a video he made for pastors to help those that might not be used to streaming services, etc online. John tells HisAir, “It seemed to be very helpful to them – more than I would have thought.” John adds that preaching and teaching online is different than having a physical audience and is a very different communication experience.
Pastor, are you changing how you communicate online? I was asked this week by a missionary friend to share with pastors how to communicate differently in a time where they've gone from having a physical audience to preach and teach to addressing the church from their living room through Facebook Live. It's a very different communication experience. I sent him this video, but the more I've been speaking to pastors lately, the more I feel this could help some others – so here you go. Feel free to share this with your pastor if you like…
