Dunham+Company fundraising host Rich Anderson checks in with HisAir, “WLGH/Lansing (Smile FM) normally loses about three on-going donors each month but in the past two weeks it’s been about three a day. To counter this Rich Anderson, Smile FM fundraising consultant, wrote an honest e-mail to share the need with listeners. That e-mail went out April 1 to 2,557 friends. It generated 25 donations in the first hour and 77 gifts in the first 24-hours totaling $22,000. There was only one negative comment and overall the comments were awesome, including: “I’m giving what I can and praying that people will do the same. We need smile FM more than ever right now. All of us need to be singing praises, fighting this spiritual warfare.” AND “We LOVE Smile FM. It is the ONLY radio station we listen to in our home. You inspire us and give us guidance and God gives us direction and strength. We know and trust He will see each of us through this pandemic. Bless you All!” Ed, the network president is blown away by the response as nothing outside of an on-air pledge drive has generated this kind of response so quickly.
