KNWC/Sioux Falls (Life 96.5) PD Lauren Banik checks in with HisAir.Net and news about its biggest Baby Shower to date–the Sioux Empire’s Largest Baby Shower. The total number of items donated during January was 1,143! That includes 57 packages of diapers, 54 packages of wipes, 4 pack-n-plays, 2 strollers, 1 baby bathtub, 5 car seat/stroller combos, and hundreds of clothing items like onesies, sleepers, bibs, socks, and incredibly cute outfits. Donations were made to “The Alpha Center.”
89.5 KVNE/Tyler and sister station 91.3 KGLY/Tyler delivered Valentine’s Day cards to children and seniors to encourage them. Watch the video report here.
Houston Christian Broadcasters is the recipient of a station being donated by owner George Chambers. The station KDER/Comstock, TX will broadcast HCB’s Teaching format based in Houston. Last year, the generous owner (George) declared that the FCC had gone from “a governing and licensing agency to a money-grabbing small-business killer,” and that he was “out of steam.”
With more colleges and universities selling their radio properties Northern Kentucky University is turning loose its stations. EMF is buying WNKE/New Boston, OH (Cincinnati) for 700K. The school is also selling WNKU/Highland Hts, KY for $1.9 mil to Bible Broadcasting Network. A group rallied to stop the sale to BBN. Watch the TV report here.
