Sometime this afternoon KSWD/Los Angeles (The Sound) made the switch to CCM. Education Media Foundation (EMF), flipped KSWD to K-LOVE as the first Contemporary Christian music format station to cover the entire Los Angeles metro. The station flip also came with new calls to KKLQ which EMF had applied for on November 8th. EMF purchased KSWD from Entercom due to its acquisition of CBS Radio, and switch it to the Christian music K-LOVE network on November 16, 2017. EMF reached an undisclosed agreement with Univision in order to allow the use of the “K-Love” name on the new station in Los Angeles.
Response is reported to be very positive.
