Vice President Mike Pence is confirmed to speak Tuesday, February 27, during Proclaim 18, the National Religious Broadcasters’ (NRB) 75th annual Convention, February 27-March 2 in Nashville. “I’m delighted that Vice President Mike Pence is now confirmed to speak at our Convention this year,” said Dr. Jerry A. Johnson, president & CEO of NRB. “The Vice President is an outstanding public servant – one who has emphasized for years the importance of his Christian faith in his public service. As a former radio broadcaster, Vice President Pence knows NRB and we know him. We eagerly anticipate what he has to say to thousands of evangelical communicators.”


KLTY/Dallas weekend personality Jake Sommers is exiting the station. Jake tells HisAir.Net he is coming of the air to concentrate on his imaging and voicetracking business.


Cox has pulled the plug on its CCM in Tulsa at K289CC/KWEN-HD2/Tulsa “Spirit 105.7”.  A statement on the Spirit 105.7 website said, “It’s never easy to say goodbye to a radio station. For several years, Cox Media Group – Tulsa has had a team of dedicated individuals who poured their love and energy into Spirit 105.7, and it’s extremely difficult to have to move on.” 

Spirit 105.7 Tulsa officially went on the air January 12, 2016. Cox Media relaunched its Christian AC station as “Spirit 105.7” on Screen Door Broadcasting’s 105.7 K289CC Tulsa. KKCM “Spirit 102.3” was on the air from 2005 through 2009 then flipped to a simulcast of sister News/Talk 740 KRMG/Tulsa. 


This year, Adult & Teen Challenge USA (TC USA) will commemorate 60 years of helping people overcome life-controlling addictions to drugs and alcohol. Founded by the late Pastor David Wilkerson on the streets of New York in 1958, TC USA now offers the largest network of faith-based treatment and recovery centers in the U.S., helping thousands of individuals break free from addiction each year.  The anniversary will be marked by a celebration in Washington, D.C. on July 22-24 in Alexandria, Virginia.
