WCLQ Hope in the Park
WCLQ/Wausau (89Q) Hope in the Park reached over 8,000 people. Matthew West was featured artist for the annual free listener appreciation concert. Hope in the Park also featured children’s activities, food trucks, worship, and special testimonies.
The event was emceed by Brant and Sherri from the Brant Hansen Show, which airs weeknights on 89Q. They represented CURE, and 89Q listeners came through by covering 12 surgeries for CURE hospitals in Africa. “CURE loved being at Hope in the Park. It’s already a great event, clearly, but when kids get healing as a result… that’s next-level”. And 89Q did this at no charge to CURE. That’s rare and wonderful and joyful.” – Brant Hansen.
“We truly love our listeners’ generosity. Not only was the giving enough to cover the entire event, including the Matthew West concert, but the powerful testimonies and our prayer tent ministry mean lives have been changed—again. This is the body working together for God’s glory and advancing His kingdom work on earth. We are once again impressed with how God is using Christian radio to bring people closer to Him and spread the hope of the Gospel all over the world. We’re glad we can be used here in North Central Wisconsin.” – Coy Sawyer, 89Q General Manager.
