WJIE/Louisville offered their air talent and airwaves to the ministry, OneChild to raise money for girls who have recently been rescued from trafficking in the Philippines. Over $25,000 was raised during the 2-day event. These girls are now living at OneChild’s Happy Horizon’s Children’s Ranch, where they can are safe, can find healing, and begin to see a better future. The Philippines is a Tier 1 country for trafficking and online exploitation.
According to WJIE GM Troy Miles, “The WJIE team is very thankful to be an outlet to bring awareness to the issue of human trafficking. We are honored to be a part of what God is doing through the ministry of OneChild and Happy Horizons Children’s Ranch. Faron Dice was amazing to work with, his devotion and enthusiasm for this ministry was evident during the event.”
