WGTS Summer Ice Cream Tour
The WGTS/Wash DC team headed out in force to serve ice cream to listeners all across the Washington D.C. area. Each day the team landed in a different city. They set-up a remote broadcast booth, an ice cream serving station and an area where kids could play games and blow bubbles. On Friday, the ice cream tour headed to the small town of Mt. Airy, Maryland who won a tour stop based on their votes. WGTS brought along its own WGTS 91.9 Praise Band to help host the final day of the event.
“We wanted to find an easy way to connect with the community over the summer. We figured just about everyone likes ice cream, so it would work. During the inaugural event last year we saw just over 3,000 people. This year that number doubled to over 6,000 people. It’s an incredible way to minister, one ice cream bar at a time,” said WGTS 91.9 morning show host and promotions director Jerry Woods.
