The JOY FM Names New PD

Dave Cruse, Assistant Program Director and host of The JOY FM’s The Morning Cruise with Dave, Bill, and Carmen, was promoted to Program Director for The JOY FM effective May 9. The move comes as Carmen Brown, JOY FM GM/PD, took on the newly-created position of VP of Programming and Content for Radio Training Network (RTN), the parent company of The JOY FM.   

Cruse will continue to host The Morning Cruise and serve as The JOY FM’s Music Director, a position he has filled since March, 2019.

“It’s like switching seats on a bus going down the interstate at 70 MPH,” said Cruse of the transition. “I just hope to keep it between the lines.”  

Cruse has served at The JOY FM for 15 years. Previous radio experience includes KSBJ/Houston and WQCK/Baton Rouge.

The JOY FM is heard by more than 1 million weekly listeners on numerous FM signals throughout Florida, north and middle Georgia, and southeast Alabama as well as on HD and apps. June 2022 marks the 36th year The JOY FM has been on the air in Tampa Bay and Central Florida, where RTN is based.
