The Bridge Announces Expansion

The Bridge of Hope, Inc., owner/operators of WKNZ/Harrington/Dover, DE (The Bridge) and WNKZ-FM/Salisbury/Pocomoke City, MD) has signed an agreement to purchase WAIV-FM, licensed to Cape May Courthouse, NJ from Equity Communications, LP.

The application for transfer of the station license has been filed with the Federal Communications Commission, and pending approval The Bridge will begin simulcasting its programming and music during the first quarter of 2021.

WAIV will add all of South Jersey to The Bridge’s coverage area including Atlantic City, Vineland and Bridgeton at 105.5 FM. 

Bill Sammons, Jr., president and general manager of The Bridge, said the radio ministry is looking forward to reaching several hundred thousands more potential listeners in New Jersey.  “We have already built a loyal audience in South Jersey via our 88.7 FM signal, which reaches Cape May and some other coastal communities.  Now we’ll have a local station with a strong signal that will reach many, many more”, he said.

The station plays a mix of Adult Contemporary Christian Music, with an emphasis on local people, local issues, and local events. On-air hosts are always entertaining for listeners of every age category, and encourage unity amongst Delmarva’s Christian population. The station is a source for strength to assist the listener’s daily walk with the Lord.

The Bridge is a non-profit, community-supported radio station that plays a mix of Adult Contemporary Christian Music, with an emphasis on local people, local issues, and local events. Listeners tune into The Bridge where they live, work, and worship. In Delaware, Maryland, Southern Jersey on 88.7 FM. Southern Maryland from Salisbury to Exmore on 92.5 FM. And in Ocean City, Maryland on 94.3 FM. The station is heard around the world through online streaming, The Bridge mobile app, and on smart speakers such as the Amazon Echo and Google Play.
