SOS Radio Feeds 450 Hospital Staff
SOS Radio/Las Vegas listeners & The Crossing Church – Southeast Campus fed the ENTIRE team of first responders at Henderson Hospital ! That’s 450 people fed for National Hospital week to say THANK YOU! #CommunityBuilding
Local restaurant owners from all over Las Vegas poured into the main entrance of Henderson Hospital yesterday with smiles on their faces and gifts in hand. This day was a pre-planned surprise! Free food for all 450 hospital staff members, as a thank you for all they do for the community!
“It shouldn’t take a tragedy for us to show our love and appreciation to the first responders who serve our community so faithfully,” says Aaron Hofman, pastor of The Crossing Church -Southeast Campus.
That very statement sparked the idea to give back during National Hospital Week. The Crossing Church Southeast team asked listeners from local Christian Radio Station, SOS Radio 90.5 to help donate enough food to feed the ENTIRE team of Henderson Hospital first responders!
“We love our hard working nurses, social workers, therapists, X ray techs and doctors who save lives every day in Henderson. We wondered what it might take to feed the ENTIRE hospital team, so we tried it! The Henderson community is so generous!” says Scott Herrold, morning show host at SOS Radio 90.5
Listeners, as well as restaurant managers and owners, were encouraged to donate as many meals as they could, and they did just that! Restaurants such as Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, Truffles N Bacon Cafe and Chick-fil-A made deliveries in person and others teamed up with Bite Squad Food Delivery to ensure their donations made it safe and sound! The list of participants was incredible: Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Napoli Pizza, Olive Garden, Capriotti’s, Barcode Burger Bar, Jason’s Deli, E String Pizzaria, Carrabba’s, Las Vegas Rescue Mission, Nothing Bunt Cakes and more!
By the end of the night, BOTH shifts of first responders at the Henderson Hospital had been served a delicious meal, courtesy of generous Henderson locals.
