PAR Expands Winston-Salem Reach

Positive Alternative Radio’s (PAR) Spirit FM is expanding further into North Carolina by adding a new signal covering the Winston-Salem metro area.

With 250 Watts from a height of 285′ above ground (at 106.1) in the heart of downtown, Spirit FM now has strong reception in all of Winston-Salem, NC, as well as the nearby bedroom community of Kernersville, NC. The translator was purchased from Davidson County Broadcasting Corporation and is fed by an AM signal PAR recently began using.

“We’ve wanted to expand Spirit FM into Winston-Salem for several years now. This new signal helps us potentially minister to at least a quarter million more people with Spirit FM’s contemporary Christian format and focus on community engagement,” Executive Vice President Brian Sanders said.

“We look forward to serving the Winston-Salem area,” Doug Day, General Manager, said. “The Spirit FM team is very excited to potentially add more people to our listening family.”

Eddie Baker, PAR President, noted that PAR has been in Winston-Salem for years with its Southern Gospel formatted Joy FM. “We love the Winston-Salem community and hope to reach more people with the Gospel there,” Baker noted.
