New Local CCM In New England
WYQQ/Worcester, MA (The Q90.1) has been given approval by the FCC to build a new 10,500 Watt FM station which will engage in local community impact and feature the music & programming that’s now heard on WYQQ/Worcester, MA.
The construction permit was given to the radio station by a local church, who applied for the station initially. The FCC approved the transfer of ownership of the construction permit in September 2017 and is required to be licensed by January 8, 2018.
“We are truly honored to have this opportunity to serve parts of Rhode Island, Connecticut and further areas in Massachusetts with Christian music offering hope & encouragement daily on-air and through deep, local community involvement.” says Ryan Gagne, Station Manager of WYQQ. “Being a New Englander, this region needs this avenue of hope over the airwaves. We’re trusting God will provide all that is needed to get this on the air by January”
The new station’s call letters are WSJQ-FM and will be on 91.5 FM.
