Moody Radio Nashville Adds To Morning Show

Moody Radio/Nashville has added Steve Hiller to the morning show joining Dawn Rae May as co-host for Dawn and Steve In The Morning, which airs weekdays, from 6 to 9 a.m. CT.

“Getting the right on-air partner for Dawn Rae isn’t easy, because the bar is set pretty high. But in Steve Hiller, we have a pro who is a perfect fit for the morning show,” said Scott Thunder, station manager for Moody Radio Nashville. “Steve is a mature Christian and a seasoned radio guy who knows how to inspire and how to have fun. Listeners are going to love Dawn and Steve.”

Dawn and Steve Morning In The Morning anchors mornings on select Moody Radio Network stations across the country, which is heard on more than 40 affiliates nationwide, including Nashville, Birmingham, Charleston, and Las Cruces. The goal of the program is to help listeners start their day with spiritual encouragement, fresh conversation on current topics, and Christ-centered music—plus the latest news, weather and traffic. Dawn and Steve began co-hosting together Monday, April 6.

“I’m excited to get back to doing live radio and encouraging listeners wherever they are in their faith to pursue Jesus,” said Hiller. “My prayer is that this new morning show would be a fun, engaging, spiritually encouraging way for listeners to start their day. I pray that Dawn and I can encourage listeners to look to Jesus in the business of everyday life and find strength and encouragement in Him.”

“Radio just sounded a lot more fun,” Hiller said jokingly. He then went on to attend Moody Bible Institute as an undergraduate student. During his studies at Moody, Hiller took an oral interpretation course with Mike Kellogg, 42-year broadcast veteran and retired senior announcer for Moody Radio (former Host of Music Thru the Night). “He [Mike] thought I had a decent voice and got me connected with Phil Shappard who hired me as a CAP operator.” Hiller wrapped up his bachelor’s degree in electronic communications in 1996, and continued to work in various roles with Moody Radio throughout the years.

“The morning show is excited to take on a new chapter and transition to Dawn and Steve In The Morning. Steve brings more than 20 years of broadcasting experience to the team and knows our Moody world so very well as both a graduate and as one who served with us for several years after graduating from Moody,” said May. “His heart for the Lord and His Word is evident from the start. He is a welcomed addition to the morning show as well as the team serving Moody Radio from Nashville!”
