Chart Explain 4/11/2022
Katy Nichole begins to make the top of the chart look impossible for anybody else, similar to how Crowder perched up there and wouldn’t let anyone else come close. While it’s a fact that Katy’s first single has skyrocketed in airplay and consumption, as we are in a cycle of shifting music there is some nice movement underneath.
This week Cain continues the move forward, staying even on the Moneyball chart but making great gains on the airplay charts. For King & Country have the best chart movement this week with airplay and consumption creating the spike from 25 to 8 this week. While Anne Wilson’s My Jesus is still hovering in and around the Top 15 of the Moneyball Chart, her new single Sunday Sermon has had a nice surge this week, joining Cain and FK&C as this week’s three Songs On The Move.
Jordan Feliz stays in the same position at three but has nice gains to keep the song Top 3 this week. Jon Reddick and Blessing Offor are two others in the Top 15 still clawing for upward positioning.
Any questions on this week’s chart or curious how a song is doing in your market? I’m all ears and would love to dialogue with you any time.
The Moneyball Chart Methodology
Instead of one chart that focuses specifically on airplay, the Moneyball Chart combines airplay with sales, streaming and research for the purpose of finding the Momentum in Music, which is most times the differentiator on songs that stall and the ones that continue to chug along.
The Moneyball Chart is created based on a points system, where each column of information can add a maximum of up to 10 points for that column, with the points from each column adding to the overall totals.
The Moneyball Chart is an indicator of songs that are working; songs that are bearing fruit and therefore the Moneyball Chart, may have drastic differences from the charts you have become accustom to, revealing some artists and titles in a higher position much earlier than they show up on the airplay charts, and also, often songs that have moved to recurrent on most of our playlists continue to show fruit indicating that we may have retired those titles too early.
The Moneyball system works Nationally, or locally, so if you are interested in seeing what this information looks like specific to your station, specific to your market and your competitive situation, let us create a custom sample for your station specifically.
