Loyd Ford “The World Wears You Down, Reenergize At Work”
The World Wears You Down, Reenergize At Work
Some days, the world simply feels heavy.
The news is exhausting. Responsibilities pile up. People disappoint us. Problems appear faster than solutions.
Even when you believe deeply in your calling, there are days when the work itself can begin to drain you.
For Christian broadcasters, those moments are important reminders that we were never meant to carry everything alone.
Sometimes reenergizing begins with balance. Step away for a moment. Pray. Take a walk. Turn off the noise. Give your mind and heart room to settle. Rest is not a lack of commitment. Even Jesus withdrew from the crowds.
Then redirect your attention toward service.
Encourage someone.
Tell a coworker you appreciate them.
Check on the person who seems unusually quiet.
Help someone with a problem that is not technically yours.
Speak hope into someone who needs it.
Pray with someone if the moment is right.
One of the remarkable things about giving is that it often renews the giver.
When we focus only on what is wearing us down, our world can become smaller.
But when we begin serving others, our perspective changes.
We remember why the work matters.
Christian broadcasting is ultimately about more than transmitters, ratings, revenue, programming or deadlines.
It is about people.
It is about using the opportunities God gives us to encourage, serve and point toward hope.
You still need rest.
You still need boundaries.
You still need time to refill your own cup.
But sometimes God refills us while we are pouring into someone else.
When the world wears you down, protect your energy, return to your purpose and look for someone you can encourage.
You may find that helping someone else stand a little taller helps restore your own strength, too.
