KWND Launches New Signal

KWND/Springfield (88.3 The Wind) has launched a new frequency, 89.5 FM. The new frequency will broadcast as far west as extreme southeast Kansas, reaching the following cities: Joplin, Lamar, Carthage, Neosho, Pierce City and Stockton. While the frequency is new, the content will feature the same radio personalities, music and theme as 88.3-FM in Springfield.

88.3 The Wind’s mission is to bring Hope and Encouragement to its listeners 7 days a week and the same mission will be replicated for all frequencies. Chalmer Harper, Station Manager says “We are overjoyed, humbled, and excited by what God has done with this expansion of the ministry of 88.3 The Wind. We are looking forward to serving these communities with not only our radio signal, but our hands and feet.”

The staff at 88.3 The Wind also works alongside the community to facilitate multiple outreaches from blanket drives to food drives, collecting thousands of needed items with the purpose of showing Christ’s love.

88.3 The Wind is owned and operated by the Radio Training Network (RTN). 89.5-FM is the sixth signal in the 88.3 The Wind family, joining translators at 94.1/Branson, MO; 100.9/Bolivar, MO; 103.3/Mansfield, MO; and 102.1/Mountain Grove, MO. RTN purchased 89.5 KCKJ in August from the Lake Area Educational Broadcasting Foundation.
