KNWI New Improved Signal
KNWI/Des Moines (Life 107.1) is set to increase their signal in Des Moines and central Iowa. The station has been broadcasting on 3 reduced power frequencies. The new signal will allow them to reach more listeners using only one strong signal.
Since receiving approval to increase the station power and tower height, the team at Life 107.1 has been working to raise the funds necessary to raise the tower. The project, Operation Strong Tower, concluded with an on-air fundraising event in early December.
“God blessed our socks off, and the Life 107.1 team is so encouraged!”, says station manager Bruce Barrows. “Listeners caught the vision for this new tower and met our fundraising goal of $400,000 almost 6 hours early. This time next year, Life 107.1 will be sharing the love and hope of Jesus with all of Des Moines and central Iowa on one strong signal.” Construction of the new tower has begun and is expected to be completed after winter.
Life 107.1 is a part of the Northwestern Media network of University of Northwestern – St. Paul. Northwestern Media operates 21 stations in 13 markets across 10 states. Their radio signals reach more than 1.25 million listeners each week.
